This self-assessment tool helps manufacturers and importers determine whether the obligations of Article 11 of the Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 apply to their product in full, or whether their product qualifies for one of the partial or full derogations provided by the Regulation.
Article 11(1) requires that portable batteries incorporated in products be removable and replaceable by the end user.
Where the obligations apply, in full or in part, the tool also allows manufacturers to assess whether their current product design is aligned with the requirements of Article 11.
